What is the Exponential Moving Average of Volume?
This indicator applies the Exponential Moving Average to trading volume data. Just like the price-based EMA gives extra weight to recent prices, the Volume EMA gives extra weight to recent volume readings. That makes it more sensitive to sudden changes in trading activity compared to the SMA of Volume. If trading activity suddenly surges or dries up, the Volume EMA picks it up fast — which is exactly what you want when you're looking for early signs of a volume breakout.
How Does It Work?
The bot calculates the EMA on volume data and watches its slope. When the Volume EMA slope is positive (volume trending up), it signals Buy.
