What is Volume Compared to the HT Trendline?
This indicator compares actual trading volume against the Hilbert Transform trendline calculated on volume data. When current volume is above its trendline, trading activity is picking up beyond what's considered normal. When it falls below, the market is quietening down. Volume surges often go hand-in-hand with big price moves. By catching those surges early — before the price fully reacts — your bot gets a head start.
How Does It Work?
The bot compares current volume to the Hilbert Transform Instantaneous Trendline on volume data. When volume sits above the trendline, it signals Buy — suggesting growing market interest. When volume falls below, it signals Sell. It works best alongside a price-based indicator to confirm that the volume surge is actually moving prices in the expected direction.
Using It in BitThor
Select Volume Compared to HT Transform Trend Line of Volume in your bot's config. It's ideal as a secondary confirmation signal. Pair it with a price-based indicator and set its weight slightly lower — that way volume validates the trade without overruling the price signal.
Tips for Beginners
-
Use it as a confirmation alongside a price-based indicator. Volume should support the direction before your bot commits.
-
Sudden volume spikes above the trendline can mark the start of a new trend or a reversal — both worth paying attention to.
-
In low-liquidity crypto pairs, volume data can get noisy. Use longer decision rounds to smooth things out.
