What is Preserve Gains?
Our Preserve Gains feature allows you to define a profit threshold. Once the system detects that the account balance has exceeded this defined threshold, it can adjust its trading parameters to aim for stability relative to that level. This mechanism helps to secure documented gains achieved up to the point of activation, acting as a programmed safety measure against subsequent minor downturns, but it does not guarantee future market performance or prevent all volatility.
How Does It Work?
When you enable Preserve Gains on a bot, you set a percentage threshold. Once the bot's cumulative profit reaches that level, the system tightens its sell triggers and reduces position sizes for subsequent trades. This is a mechanical adjustment — the bot reacts to a defined rule, not a market prediction. The feature is designed to help retain gains that have already been realized, not to forecast future price movements.
Using It in BitThor
Navigate to your bot configuration and enable the Preserve Gains toggle. Set your desired profit threshold percentage. Once the bot reaches this level during a session, the adjusted trading parameters take effect automatically. You can review the activation history in your session details.
